Gnodomos Help

Beginner Guide: How To Use The Workspace

This page explains the core parts of the system and how information moves from triage to reusable knowledge.

What Gnodomos Is

Gnodomos is a personal knowledge graph. It stores your notes, webpages, files, concepts, and the links between them. The system is designed so captured information is visible in the Repository immediately, with workflow state showing what still has pending relationship review work.

Core Workspace Areas

These are the areas you will use most often.

Repository

The main knowledge library and active review surface. Use filters (type, concept, domain, date, workflow state) to find what you already know and what is still pending review.

Concept Hub

A concept operations center. Use navigator + tabs to explore one concept, inspect evidence, trace timeline, discover direct/indirect links, and run concept-scoped maintenance actions.

Collections

User-managed bundles of items for recurring topics (for example, Vendor Risk Q1). Collections are reusable and can be exported.

Concept Studio

Your taxonomy workspace. Create/edit concepts (Idea, Person, Place, Thing), link concepts, and merge duplicates to keep graph structure clean.

Basic Daily Workflow

  1. Capture an item (note, webpage, or file).
  2. Watch Processing Queue for completion or errors.
  3. Open Repository items and resolve pending relationships in the detail panel.
  4. Use Repository, Concept Hub, and Collections for retrieval and reuse.
  5. Export evidence packs (.md and .json) when needed.

Workflow States

The workflow state tracks where an artifact is in lifecycle management.

Workflow State Meaning Typical Use
pending At least one outgoing relationship is still pending review. Review and resolve pending relationships.
approved No outgoing relationships are pending review. Retrieve by concept/source/timeline and reuse in collections/exports.
archived Item is intentionally removed from default day-to-day views. Keep historical material without cluttering active surfaces.

How Pending and Approved Work

  • Artifacts appear in the Repository (there is no separate Inbox).
  • If any outgoing relationship has review state pending, the item workflow becomes pending.
  • When all outgoing pending relationships are changed to accepted or rejected, the item workflow becomes approved.
  • Items with zero outgoing relationships are treated as approved.
  • Archived items are hidden from default Repository views until restored.

What To Do If You Are New

  1. Create one quick note.
  2. Confirm your capture appears in Processing Queue and finishes without errors.
  3. Open the item in Repository and accept/reject pending relationships.
  4. Use the Repository workflow filter to check pending vs approved items.
  5. Find your item by concept or keyword.
  6. Add it to a collection and export an evidence pack.

This path gives you one complete end-to-end cycle: capture -> review -> approve -> retrieve -> reuse.
